About Steve

Steve has served as a State Senator since 2007. Having grown up here, Steve understands the needs of our community, and has worked hard to promote a thriving economy, a strong education system for our kids, and fiscal responsibility in Olympia.

Steve enlisted as a Private in the United States Army Reserves at the age of 17, later transitioning into active duty service.

Throughout his time in the Armed Services, Steve has had the opportunity to give back to his country by serving two tours of active duty, in Kosovo and in Iraq. Today, when he is not busy representing the people of the 44th District, he serves in the Washington State Army National Guard as a Lieutenant Colonel.

Steve was born in Everett and raised in Lake Stevens, where he currently lives with his wife, Pam, and their three sons.
